In Vyazma, a pensioner was fined under the article for demonstrating Nazi symbols

A resident of Vyazma and a pensioner Irina Kirienkova was fined 1,500 rubles under an article on propaganda or public display of Nazi symbols (part 1 of article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of two posts on social networks. This was reported by an Open Media correspondent from the courtroom.

The reason for initiating the case was two posts on VKontakte published in June and September 2020. Kirienkova told OVD-Info that in the first publication she was indignant that Hitler's cap and tunic were put up in the temple of the Ministry of Defense in Kubinka, and attached photographs of objects to the post. In the second post, Kirienkova compared the logos of the Yunarmiya (the profile of an eagle with a star) and the logos of the SS troops (the profile of an eagle with a swastika), arguing about their similarity.

At a meeting of the Vyazemsky District Court of the Smolensk Region, Kirienkova insisted that she used photographs that are in the public domain, the newspaper notes. When the pensioner gave explanations to the police, she indicated that she published posts "with deep disgust for all the actions of Nazi Germany." The court refused to conduct a linguistic examination.

Kirienkova herself links the administrative case to her publications about the January protests in support of Alexei Navalny.
