Honored Coach of Russia in Athletics Evgeny Zagorulko died at the age of 78. This was announced by TASS by the senior coach of the Russian national team Anton Nazarov.

Previously, oncological disease was diagnosed in Zagorulko, in April he found coronavirus.
Evgeny Zagorulko began a coaching career in 1967. He specialized in high jumps. Under his leadership Olympic champions were Gennady Avdeenko (1988), Elena Eleesina (2000), Andrey Silnov (2008) and Anna Chicherova (2012). He also raised several world and European champions, among them Tamara Bykov, Vyacheslav Voronin, Denis Kapustin and Alexander Shustov.
