The court banned blogger Edward Bil from leaving his house at night after a major accident in Moscow. But did not arrest him

Moscow's Tverskoy District Court has chosen a ban on certain actions as a preventive measure for video blogger Edward Bil , who is a suspect in the case of a traffic accident on the Garden Ring. This was reported by the court's press service.

Bil was banned from leaving his home between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. until June 1, from communicating with participants in the criminal case without the investigator’s permission, from using the Internet and telephone, from attending public events, and from driving a car.

The investigation insisted on this measure of restraint, and did not ask the court to send Edward Bil to a pretrial detention facility or under house arrest.

After the hearing, blogger Edward Bil quickly left the court without commenting on what happened.

• On April 1, a major accident occurred on the Garden Ring in Moscow: according to investigators, blogger Edward Bil drove his Audi RS6 Avant sports car into the oncoming lane and collided with four cars. As a result of the accident, State Duma employee Maria Artemova was seriously injured and was taken to intensive care; she is in a coma. Edward Bil denies guilt, claiming that another driver cut off his car. The Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a criminal case for violating traffic rules, which provides for up to two years in prison.
