
48 percent of Russian citizens consider the court decision to send Alexei Navalny to a colony for 2.5 years. Almost a third - 29 percent - adhere to the opposite point of view. Another 23 percent of respondents found it difficult to answer this question. These are the data of the Levada Center survey (recognized in Russia as a “foreign agent”). Questions for the study, which was carried out at the end of March, were formulated in conjunction with the "open media" .
According to the study, most often the court is considered unfair by young residents of Moscow, large cities and in the village. Among the 18-22-year-olds, the share of disagreements with such a court decision reaches 50 percent. In turn, in small and medium cities, they are more likely to trust the court - here is the share of those who consider the decision fair, maximum and reaches 52 percent.
At the same time, 61 percent of those who consider the court’s decision unfair, the study of the Levada Center says speedy release of Navalny.
The results of the survey show that the channel is of crucial for evaluating events, on which people receive information about the case of Navalny, explains the director of the Levada Center Lev Gudkov. If this is television where a systematic discredit of a policy is going on, then the result is one. If social networks, then this is a completely different information and other level of awareness, the sociologist notes.
According to political scientist Abbas Galyamov, 29 percent of the sympathetic is a lot. Especially for Navalny, the approval of the activities of which is still not higher than 20 percent.
The Kremlin has repeatedly stated that he did not consider Navalny a serious opponent of President Putin. The authorities referred, in particular, to the VTsIOM survey, according to which the Navalny rating did not exceed 2 percent.
