Mikhail Kulkov, convicted in the Penza “Network” case, was placed in a punishment cell for 10 days at the end of March. The prisoner’s mother, Elena Samonina, told RUPRESSION about this.

The reason for the punishment was several reports: “He lowered his ears to his hat when the frost was below -30, sat down on the bed, entered the store at the wrong time, something else.” Three more reports were filed against Kulkov in the detention center itself - for lying on the floor.

In January-February, an investigator from the Investigative Committee, who is leading the case of the murder of Ekaterina Levchenko and Artem Dorofeev, came to IK-6 in Yoshkar-Ola, where Kulkov is serving his sentence. According to Kulkov’s mother, the investigator twice tried to convince the prisoner to testify, but he refused to speak without a lawyer.

At the beginning of April, another defendant in the Penza “Network”, Maxim Ivankin,was sent to a punishment cell for 10 days. Later, the lawyer of the convicted person told Novaya Gazeta that his client was being threatened for refusing to cooperate in the case of Levchenko and Dorofeev.

In February 2020, information appeared in the media that some of the defendants in the Network case may be involved in the murder of two people and drug trafficking. The OVD-Info team has published its position on these statements:

• A criminal case against the “terrorist community “Network” was opened in October 2017. According to the FSB, 11 young people in Penza and St. Petersburg organized the terrorist community “Network” and were planning to overthrow the government.
• In February 2020, a court in Penza sentenced seven anti-fascists to prison terms ranging from 6 to 18 years. The appeal court upheld the conviction in October. Dmitry Pchelintsev received 18 years in a maximum security colony, and Ilya Shakursky received 16 years in a maximum security colony under the article on organizing the activities of a terrorist community (Part 1 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code). Three defendants were accused of participating in a terrorist community (Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code) and attempted drug sales: Andrei Chernov received 14 years in a maximum security colony, Maxim Ivankin - 13 years in a maximum security colony, Mikhail Kulkov - 10 years in a maximum security colony . Vasily Kuksov, who received 9 years in a general regime colony, was accused of participating in a terrorist community and illegal possession of weapons. Arman Sagynbaev received 6 years in a general regime colony under the article on participation in a terrorist community.
