Libertarian Gleb Maryasov was again charged in the case of blocking roads on January 23

The investigation again brought charges against libertarian and Civil Society activist Gleb Maryasov in the case of deliberately blocking roads during a rally on January 23. This was reported by a lawyer from OVD-Info Dmitry Zakhvatov.

Maryasov is accused under the article on deliberate blocking of transport infrastructure facilities or obstructing the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, if these acts endangered the safety of citizens and property (part 1 of article 267 of the Criminal Code).

From the text of the accusation, the wording that Maryasov caused damage to the state-owned enterprises Moscow Metro and Mosgortrans was removed. According to the charge filed last time, the companies then estimated the damage at 1,541,148 rubles and 1,165,852 rubles, respectively. The ruling mentions bus drivers who allegedly had to make an emergency stop. In addition, if earlier Maryasov was accused only of organizing a mass exit onto the roadway with the help of calls and instructions, now the document says that he himself also went onto the roadway.

The libertarian was detained on February 22 immediately after leaving the special detention center, where he was serving 30 days of arrest due to the January protests. Then they were taken for interrogation to the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and sent to a temporary detention facility (IVS). Two days later, a preventive measure was chosen for him in the form of a ban on certain actions.

• After the rally on January 23, a protocol was drawn up against Maryasov under the article on repeated violations at rallies (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) and on disobedience to the demand of a police officer (art. 19.3 of the Administrative Code). The court appointed him an arrest for 30 and 15 days, respectively. As the activist said, the police approached him when he was at the Dodo Pizza pizzeria, hit him in the stomach and took him by force.
• In connection with the actions in support of Alexei Navalny, which took place from January 23 to February 2, at least 90 criminal cases were opened across the country. The protesters were accused not only of using violence against the security forces (Article 318 of the Criminal Code), but also of violating sanitary and epidemiological rules (Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code), involving minors in illegal activities (Part 2 of Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code), road closures (Article 267 of the Criminal Code).
