Valery Evsina, accused of attacking a National Guard member, was asked to serve three years in prison

During the debate in the Tverskoy District Court in the case of an attack on a National Guard member, the prosecutor’s office requested three years in prison for Valery Evsin, a participant in the January 23 protest, reports lawyer from OVD-Info Maxim Pashkov.

Taxi driver Valery Evsinwas detained on January 26, three days later the court sent the man to a pre-trial detention center. Evsin is accused of violence against a National Guard member (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code) - the investigation believes that during the action on January 23, he pushed a metal barrier towards a security officer.

• In connection with the rallies in support of Alexei Navalny, which took place from January 23 to February 2, at least 90 criminal cases were opened across the country. The protest participants were accused not only of using violence against security forces (Article 318 of the Criminal Code), but also of violating sanitary and epidemiological rules (Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code), involving minors in illegal activities (Part 2 of Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code), road closures (Article 267 of the Criminal Code).
