Roskomnadzor filed a lawsuit against Channel One JSC with the Moscow Arbitration Court for using a fragment of the “Foreign Media Agent” story without indicating its status. It is reported by RBC with reference to the data of the Electronic Justice database.
As clarifies the publication, Roskomnadzor requires to bring Channel One to administrative responsibility under Part 3 of Art. 14.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for violation of licensing requirements in the field of television and radio broadcasting, established by the law "On Mass Media".
On the air of Channel One on March 11, 2021, in the Vremya Pokazhet program, a plot of the Current Time TV channel * was used, which was included by the Ministry of Justice in the list of foreign media agents, RBC writes, citing a source familiar with the case file. In the Internet version of the program, published on the website of Channel One, there is no plot of Present Time.
According to the documents of the Arbitration Court, the first meeting is scheduled for May 6. The TV channel faces a fine of up to 50,000 rubles for not being labeled "media-foreign agent".
The Current Time TV channel was created by the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty* media corporation and has been on the list of foreign media agents since 2017.
