Stanislav Rukavishnikov, a resident of Mari El, was fined 1,000 rubles for a video on VKontakte that was deemed extremist. This was reported by the Information and Analytical Center "Sova".
The decision was made by the Sovetsky District Court of the Republic on April 5. Rukavishnikov was found guilty under the article on the public distribution of extremist materials (Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
The prosecutor's office, whose message was noticed by Owl, does not specify for which video the man was fined. It is known that the Kirovsky District Court of Novosibirsk recognized the video as extremist.
"Owl" suggested that this could be a video of Alexei Navalny's supporters "Let's Remind the Crooks and Thieves of their Manifesto-2002." In March 2021, two residents of Mari El were fined for publishing it, but the cases were soon dropped, the center notes.
