Against a resident of St. Petersburg, Alexander Ovchinnikov, a criminal case was opened under the article on justifying terrorism (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). It is reported by Interfax.
The Fontanka publication clarifies the details of the case: according to the investigation, Ovchinnikov left a comment on August 27 under one of the entries in the RT News in Russian group on VKontakte. The examination, carried out at the request of the FSB, found signs of “calls to commit actions that intimidate the population and create a danger of death, as well as causing significant property damage, in order to destabilize the activities of government bodies and international organizations.”
RT (Russia Today) is a pro-government TV channel that supports the course of the Russian government. Fontanka writes that Ovchinnikov, judging by his social networks, also approves of the actions of the Russian authorities. However, this fact did not prevent the security forces from initiating a criminal case.
Employees of the Center "E" participated in the detention of Ovchinnikov, who also searched the detainee's apartment. Soon Ovchinnikov should choose a measure of restraint.
