Ulyanovsk region was headed by the representative of the Communist Party

The temporarily acting governor of the Ulyanovsk region, after the resignation of Sergei Morozov, was appointed Alexey Russians on Thursday. The Decree of the President of Russia on its appointment is published on the Kremlin website.

Russians, a member of the Communist Party of the Communist Party, was a deputy of the State Duma from this party, and since 2018 he represented the Moscow Region in the Federation Council. He voted for the approval of the amendments to the Constitution of Russia (the Communist Party faction in the Duma was abstained from voting).

Morozov, who headed the region since 2005, filed on Thursday of his own free will. The text of the appeal is published on his Facebook. This is the second head of the region, leaving his post in two days.

In the appeal, Morozov said that he believes that he could benefit the region in a new status - and plans to run for the State Duma. According to him, his resignation is connected with the desire to work in parliament.

The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin fired the head of Tuva Sholban Kara-ool who wrote a statement at his own request. He led the region since May 2007.

Morozov served since 2005, longer than the leaders of all other regions in Russia. After his resignation, from all the leaders of the constituent entities of the federation , the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, head of Chechnya, heads his region . He has been heading the republic since 2007.

The resignation of old-arcual officials was predicted in the analytical report "Mintchenko Consulting" in March. According to the authors of the report, in the “red zone” of political stability were three governors - the head of Tuva, the head of the Ulyanovsk region and the head of North Ossetia Vyacheslav Bitarov, who headed the region in 2016.

The authors explained his possible dismissal with the protests of Covid dissidents in the republic and attention to the case of an accident with the participation of his brother, who later, presumably, committed suicide .
