Zolotov: "Our task is to prevent extremists from rocking the situation"

The head of the Russian Guard Viktor Zolotov said in an interview with TASS that one of the tasks of his department was to prevent extremists from rocking the situation on inconsistent protests. He added that "appropriate measures" may be applied to the participants in such events.

“It has already been repeatedly expressed to express my personal attitude to such shares. Here the key word is“ inconsistent ”, that is, illegal. I want to remind you that we live in a legal state where the organization and holding of mass events are clearly regulated by the law, which determines the rules and conditions of their holding. Organizers and participants of such shares should be understood that they are grossly violating the law, therefore, they may apply the corresponding to them. Measures in these situations, the personnel of the Russian Guard is primarily focused on ensuring public order, the requirements of the law and the security of citizens, ”said Zolotov.

"And our task is to prevent extremists from rocking the situation! At the same time, note that the Rosgvardists intervene only when the police need additional help. And if we compare the actions of Russian law enforcement officers with foreign colleagues even from the most democratic countries of the European Union or the USA, then such a comparison will not be in favor of the latter. Assessments of law enforcement officers in our country, ”added Zolotov.

Rallies, processions and the like mass events have a notification order of holding. The organizer of the action should no earlier than 15 and no later than 10 days to inform the executive body about it.
