The website of the publication " Proekt " has been subjected to DDoS attacks for two days. This was reported to "Meduza" by its editor-in-chief Roman Badanin .

Badanin expressed confidence that the attacks were connected to the publication of an investigation into the wives of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and their real estate. He noted that the editorial board had no direct evidence of this.

We connect [with the investigation] in the way that simultaneously for the second day there have been colossal attempts to block the video on YouTube and TikTok. Anonymous physical users are pouring in complaints about this content. YouTube reports that they have permanent attempts to block the video. Based on this, we assume that the DDoS attacks are connected with this investigation. But it is impossible to find out for sure, no one leaves such traces. In the end, the video was not blocked, everything is on YouTube's side and this is its decision. And there are no legal grounds for blocking.

Badanin noted that the site had been subjected to DDoS attacks before, but "in terms of scale and duration, this is the first time." "Previously, it was a small surge, it quickly ended and did not lead to significant problems. But now we were unavailable for some time in the morning, and during the day, too, although we spend a lot of effort on fighting it off," said the editor-in-chief of "Proekt."

• An investigation about Ramzan Kadyrov was published on Proekt on April 7. It claimed that the head of Chechnya has at least two wives. In total, according to the authors of the investigation, real estate worth 800 million rubles is registered in their names.
