A minor accused of manufacturing explosives was given a suspended sentence

17-year-old Muscovite Kirill Kuzminkin was sentenced to two years, three months suspended and 10 thousand rubles fine in the case of the manufacture and storage of explosives (part 1 of article 223.1 of the Criminal Code, part 1 of article 222.1 of the Criminal Code). It is reported by Mediazona.

The decision was made by the Tushinsky District Court of Moscow. The prosecutor demanded 2.5 years probation and a fine of 100,000 rubles with a probationary period of two years. The trial was held behind closed doors, as the defendant is a minor.

As Novaya Gazeta wrote , the prosecution claimed that between January 2 and October 17, 2018, Kuzminkin, “having a desire to establish himself in the eyes of familiar peers and gain practical explosive skills, decided to make explosives in deserted places in Moscow in order to blow them up” . To do this, he acquired various components necessary for the manufacture of substances.

“An analysis of the evidence collected during the preliminary investigation and indicated in the indictment allows us to come to a reasonable conclusion that admissible evidence collected in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Criminal Procedure and sufficient to support the charges brought in court was not collected by the investigation and was not provided to the court. Under such circumstances, the case is subject to termination due to the absence of corpus delicti in the act, ”lawyer Sergei Ashanin explained to Novaya Gazeta.

• Kirill Kuzminkin was detained in November 2018. From the moment of his arrest, he spent a whole year - until the end of October 2019 - in a pre-trial detention center. He ended up in isolation at the age of 14. After that, he was transferred under house arrest, and then released, appointing him a ban on certain actions.
• On the morning of October 31, 2018, 17-year-old anarchist Mikhail Zhlobitsky detonated a bomb in the UFSB building in Arkhangelsk. Three employees were injured, the young man himself died. A few minutes before the explosion, a message about the attack appeared in the telegram in the open chat of the Rebel Speech. Law enforcers opened a criminal investigation into the attack. After that, criminal cases began to be initiated throughout the country to justify Zhlobitsky's act. Among other things, Kirill Kuzminkin was detained three days after the explosion in Arkhangelsk. According to investigators, they corresponded with Zhlobitsky shortly before the explosion.
