A criminal case was opened in Kamchatka after orphans were given housing with mold

In Kamchatka, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for abuse of power after orphans were given housing without repair and with mold. This was reported on the website of the regional prosecutor's office.

According to the department, poor housing was provided in the village of Palana. The press service of the prosecutor's office writes that in most cases, representatives of the administration signed acts of acceptance and transfer of premises without a preliminary inspection. Only after moving in did officials learn about defects in the apartments.

The inspection reports described damage to the floor, ceiling, windows, doors; in some places there was a complete lack of repairs and there was mold. At the same time, according to the documents, the administration provided apartments with renovations, the prosecutor’s office clarifies.

The department also discovered facts of overestimation of the cost of apartments purchased for orphans.
