The KGB of Belarus announced the detention of Lukashenko's former press secretary Alexander Feduta. The day before he disappeared in Moscow

The KGB of Belarus has detained a political scientist, former press secretary of Alexander Lukashenko Alexander Feduta. It is reported by "Belta".

The special service also announced the detention of opposition politician Grigory Kostusev. The KGB reported that they were both suspected of committing a crime, but did not specify which one.

It is not clear where Feduta was detained. The last time he was seen in Moscow, where the political scientist came for work, after which he stopped communicating. TASS reported, citing a source, that on the night of April 12, Moscow law enforcement agencies received a statement about his disappearance - from whom exactly, the message did not specify.

Feduta's wife, Marina Shibko , told Tut.by that she applied, but not on April 12, but on April 13. She added that the "Moscow investigators" could not tell her where her husband was and how he ended up in the KGB.

Kostusev was detained the day before in the Mogilev region. According to his son-in-law, Kostusev is charged under an article on preparation or organization of actions grossly violating public order.

• Feduta was Lukashenka's press secretary in the 1990s, and in 2005 he became the author of the first political biography of the president. Feduta later went into opposition. In 2010, he headed the campaign headquarters of the opposition candidate for the presidency of Belarus Vladimir Neklyaev. After the elections, Feduta was arrested and then sentenced to two years of probation. The human rights organization Amnesty International recognized him as a prisoner of conscience.
