At the Basmanny Court, where court hearings on preventive measures for journalists of the student publication DOXA are being held, arrests began. Yuri Chebotarev was detained, standing in a single picket with a poster “Release my innocent friends, bitches.” This was reported by OVD-Info employees located at the court.
22:30 The detainee was released from the police department after giving an explanation under an obligation to appear, he told OVD-Info. They did not draw up protocols for him.
- On the morning of April 14, four journalists from the student publication DOXA were searched. Searches took place in the houses of Armen Aramyan, Alla Gutnikova, Vladimir Metelkin and Natalia Tyshkevich. After that, they were taken for interrogation to the Investigative Committee; now the court is considering preventive measures for all four.
- Journalists are accused of involving minors in activities that are dangerous to them (Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code). A criminal case was opened because of a DOXA video in which the publication’s participants addressed students - they urged them not to be afraid of threats of expulsion for participating in rallies. Subsequently, the magazine's editors deleted this video at the request of Roskomnadzor.
