The court extended the measure of restraint of the Voronezh opposition activist

On April 13, the Central District Court of Voronezh extended the preventive measure to a participant in opposition shares to Grigory Severin. About this OTD-Info told the wife of Severin.

The ban on certain actions against an activist, accused of calls to extremism, will be valid by a court decision until June 19.

The defense asked the court to mitigate the preventive measure and allow Severin the calls, but this request was rejected.

In early April, Severin was sent to a forensic psychiatric examination in the framework of a criminal case.

On March 4, the activist was charged under an article on calls for extremist activity (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code) due to publication on VKontakte. Severin is charged with writing a post in January 2019 with the phrase “Cut Gabnya”. According to the investigation, these words contain a “call for violent actions (murder) in relation to employees of state security bodies”.

• On February 25, a search was held in the house of Grigory Severin. He was detained, and the next day the court appointed him a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions: a man cannot be used by the Internet, receive mail and attend rallies and other public events. At the same time, according to the wife of Severin, during the search, the FSB officers applied military receptions to a man, beat and strangled him. The activist appealed to the IC of the Voronezh region with a complaint about the exceeding the security forces by security officials, but the criminal case has not yet been brought up.
