The prosecutor asked Lyubov Sobol, a lawyer from the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), to be sentenced to a year of corrective labor with deduction of the maximum 20% of his earnings to the state.

Sobol is on trial in the case of breaking into the apartment of FSB officer Konstantin Kudryavtsev, who was named by The Insider and Bellingcat as one of the alleged poisoners of Alexei Navalny. Kudryavtsev became famous after Navalny posted a video in which he calls Kudryavtsev and talks to him, introducing himself as assistant secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev. During the conversation, Kudryavtsev actually confirmed that they planned to kill Navalny, and even told how exactly - the poison, according to him, was applied to the fabric of the politician's underpants.

After the video was released, Lyubov Sobol went to Kudryavtsev's apartment, where she was detained. On December 25, it became known that had been opened a criminal case against her. According to FBK, the investigation is connected with her doorbell call to Kudryavtsev. According to the Investigative Committee, Sobol “repeatedly tried to break into the elderly woman’s apartment (we are talking about Kudryavtsev’s mother-in-law, who lives in a neighboring apartment. - The Bell)”, and when the hostess opened the door, the FBK lawyer “pushed the woman away” and “burst” into apartment.

A case was initiated against Sobol under part 2 of article 139 of the Criminal Code (violation of the inviolability of a home committed with the use of violence or with the threat of its use) - the maximum punishment under this article is two years in prison or correctional labor for the same period. The article refers to crimes of minor gravity, which should not prevent Sobol from running for the State Duma.

• According to the Criminal Executive Code, correctional labor is served to convicts at their main place of work - that is, in the case of Sobol in the FBK. However, the penitentiary inspections must monitor compliance with the conditions for serving sentences by convicts and compliance with the requirements of the sentence by the administration.
