FAS filed a case against Google due to the “dominant position” of YouTube

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) opened a case against Google. According to the department, the company "abuses the dominant position" of its YouTube video service.

The reason for the investigation was the statement of the regional public organization Center for Internet Technologies (ROCIT), which complained about the sudden blocking, deletion of accounts and content on YouTube, the FAS said. During the audit, the service concluded that the video hosting rules are "opaque, biased and unpredictable", which leads to "sudden blocking and deletion of user accounts without warning and justification for action."

ROCIT recently celebrated 25 years since its inception, the organization calls its mission "to promote the development and dissemination of Internet technologies in the interests of Russian citizens."
