Security forces in St. Petersburg searched the house of the head of the Alliance of Teachers, Daniil Ken, in connection with the case of blocking roads in connection with a rally in support of Alexei Navalny on January 23. After the search, Ken was detained. This was announced on his twitter by his brother.
The Postcard Telegram channel writes that when they came to Ken, relatives gathered at his house to celebrate his birthday. The activist's 92-year-old grandfather was in the apartment.
- On April 26, 2017, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office declared a number of organizations associated with Mikhail Khodorkovsky undesirable. The list includes UK-registered OR Otkrytaya Rossia, Open Russia Civic Movement, Open Russia and Institute of Modern Russia, Inc, registered in the USA. The Russian authorities believe that the Open Russia movement is related to these legal entities, and therefore is also an undesirable organization on the territory of the Russian Federation.
- The first search at Daniil Ken's place took place on February 6 this year. On that day, searches were carried out at 30 addresses as part of a criminal case on blocking roads during a rally on January 23.
- In connection with the actions in support of Navalny, at least 90 cases were opened. Under the article on blocking roads, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the initiation of criminal cases in five cities of Russia: two in Moscow and one each in Chelyabinsk, Vladivostok, St. Petersburg and Samara.
