Coinbase paid for office rent with cryptocurrency

Crypto exchange Coinbase, whose capitalization reached $100 billion in a recent direct listing on Nasdaq, paid for the rent of the WeWork office with cryptocurrency.

Office rental service WeWork announced that it not only began to accept cryptocurrency as a means of payment through the BitPay system, but also plans to pay it to the owners of the premises and keep it on its balance sheet. Coinbase became the first cryptocurrency tenant.

For now, WeWork will accept bitcoin, ethereum, USD Coin, and a few other cryptocurrencies.

WeWork, after the resounding failure of the IPO, decided to enter the stock exchange using the currently fashionable mechanism with acquisition (SPAC). We talked about how the company lures investors - it seems that its promises are again too good.
