SVR opened a reception area on the darknet

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has opened a virtual reception room on the darknet - the agency asks to send information about threats to Russia's security, reported . Current Time

A corresponding link called Report Information appeared on the SVR website back in December 2020 — it leads to instructions for sending an appeal to the SVR “virtual reception” located on the dark web. To submit information, the CBP prompts the user to download the secure Tor browser or the Tails operating system and follow "simple instructions".

If you are located outside of Russia and have important information about threats to the security of the Russian Federation, you can send it to us in a secure and anonymous way through the virtual reception service on the Tor network.

Following this, a form opens for sending files and text of almost any length. The message can be encrypted using PGP: this system (from the English Pretty Good Privacy - “good enough privacy”) turns plain text into a chaotic set of characters. Third parties will not be able to understand the meaning of the message, even if they get access to it, and the CVR will decrypt its meaning using its cryptographic key.

The American CIA opened a representative office on the dark web two years ago. Unlike what SVR offers, this is a whole anonymous site under Tor, in many ways duplicating the official one. It also has a form for sending confidential information.
