In Cheboksary, the case of Idel.Realii and Radio Liberty journalist Darya Komarova, who was charged with violating protest legislation (Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of a meeting with the coordinator of Navalny's headquarters before the elections, was dismissed. This is reported by Idel.Realii.
The decision was made by the judge of the Leninsky District Court of Cheboksary Irina Sidorova, she came to the conclusion that there was no corpus delicti in the actions of Darya Komarova.
The report on Komarova was drawn up due to the presence at a meeting with the coordinator of the local headquarters of Navalny Semyon Kochkin on August 29, 2020. At that time, Kochkin was a candidate for the city assembly of deputies.
“I think that the courts are not happy with the flow of frankly legally illiterate police protocols for participating in actions. All of them are carbon-copied, and the police do not bother looking for evidence. The logic of the behavior of the security forces in Chuvashia boils down to the fact that by defending the authorities, they will be forgiven everything. As it turned out, the judges of the Leninsky District Court of Cheboksary have a different opinion, and they do not intend to cover up unprofessionalism,” Komarova said.
