The leader and spokesman of the Libertarian Party left the country. They explained this by political pressure

Libertarian Party chairman Yaroslav Conway and party spokesman Alexander Good left Russia. Yegor Ilyushkin, spokesman for Civil Society, told Novaya Gazeta about this.

He said that Conway had gone to the Transcaucasus because of the pressure that was being put on him.

“There was surveillance (for the leader of the party - ed.), he was recently detained, they took an explanatory note from him in the department, asked about terrorism and extremism,” Ilyushkin said, adding that later the military commissariat came to the police department and handed Conway a summons to the military office.

According to a spokesman for Civil Society, lawyers considered it highly likely that Conway would be sent to military service in the same way as Ruslan Shaveddinov, an associate of politician Alexei Navalny, in 2019.

Conway did not specify which country he is currently in.

According to Ilyushkin, party spokesman Alexander Good is on an "untimely departure" in Armenia and has no plans to return to Russia yet.

Earlier, Mikhail Svetov, a libertarian and chairman of the Civil Society, was arrested for nine days under the article on organizing a rally (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of a tweet about the action on January 23. He was also fined 30,000 rubles for calling for participation in a rally in support of Navalny on April 21.

Journalist Elizaveta Loshak, who covered the rally in support of Svetov, was fined 200,000 rubles by the court.

Over the weekend, the Moscow security forces conducted a series of arrests and searches. Among the libertarians, Sergei Boyko was also detained. He was fined 30,000 rubles because of the action on April 21.
