Meduza announced the start of collecting donations to continue its work. This happened after the Ministry of Justice included the publication in the register of “foreign agents.”
“They are trying to kill Medusa. The Russian Ministry of Justice declared us a “foreign agent.” We lost advertisers because of this. This means we are running out of money. Right now,” said the publication’s telegram channel.
The publication notes that due to the decision of the Ministry of Justice, it has already reduced costs: it abandoned offices in Riga and Moscow, practically stopped working with freelance authors, and cut employee salaries by 30-50%.
“Even in this situation, Medusa will not last long. Now we can only count on you. For the first time we turn to you, our readers, asking for help. Help us save Medusa. We can’t do it without you,” the editors write.
