Kudryavtsev was detained in the summer of 2018 and sent under arrest. According to investigators, in 2013, the scientist handed over secret information that could be used to create weapons to the Belgian von Scientific Institute. The scientist did not admit his guilt and insisted that for more than 20 years he had no access to secret information.

Last year, the FSB suspended the investigation in the Kudryavtsev case before his recovery, he suffered from oncological disease, he also diagnosed diabetes in the pre -trial detention center. The measure of restraint (at that time - the subscription of the lower right to leave) he was canceled.
