In Chelyabinsk, the May Day rally of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was not approved

The city administration refused to allow the Chelyabinsk branch of the Communist Party to hold a May Day rally-concert on the Aloe Pole, Znak.com reports , citing the press service of the regional party committee.

The refusal was explained by the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the region. Earlier, other parties, including United Russia, had already refused to hold a May Day rally in Chelyabinsk due to the pandemic.

“At the same time, despite the difficult epidemiological situation, the administration holds fireworks on May 1, which will be watched by a huge number of people whom no one will control for compliance with security measures. Double standards? From all this, we can conclude that the reason given by the administration for refusing to hold the rally is far-fetched. Permission to hold public events has become another form of political struggle. The position of the administration depends on the flag under which citizens plan to go to a public event. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation is able to provide the participants of the rally with medical masks and monitor the observance of social distance, ”the party commented on the refusal.

Despite the refusal, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation plans to go out in single pickets throughout the city with demands of a socio-economic nature, as well as distributing party newspapers and campaign materials for Labor Day.
