Another criminal case is being investigated against Navalny, Volkov and Zhdanov

Against the politician Alexei Navalny, the former director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) Ivan Zhdanov and the former head of Navalny's headquarters Leonid Volkov, they are investigating the case under the article on the creation of a non-profit organization (NPO) that infringes on the personality and rights of citizens (part 1 of article 239 of the Criminal Code) . This is reported on the Navalny website.

The case, which was initiated by the Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia on February 4, 2021, became known only in April from the documents submitted by the prosecutor's office during the consideration of the claim for the recognition of the FBK and Navalny's headquarters as extremist organizations.

Navalny’s supporters commented on the news about the new case: “The attack on the personality of Putin and his friends lies in the fact that the FBK and headquarters have been talking about his theft for years. And now everything becomes very logical. Obviously, Putin and his officials sincerely believe that stealing is their legal right. And the FBK and headquarters, when they fight against their theft, encroach on this right.

On April 27, the Moscow City Court granted the request of the prosecutor's office to restrict the activities of the FBK and the Alexei Navalny Foundation for the Protection of Citizens' Rights.
Navalny's headquarters in Russia temporarily stopped their work. This happened after the Moscow prosecutor Denis Popov suspended the activities of the "Navalny Headquarters" public movement.
On April 16, 2021, the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office sent a lawsuit to the Moscow City Court demanding that the Anti-Corruption Fund (FBK), the Fund for the Protection of Citizens’ Rights (FZPG) and the headquarters of Alexei Navalny be recognized as extremist organizations. On April 19, the Moscow City Court classified the materials of the case on the ban of the FBK and Navalny's headquarters because of state secrets.
