Medusa launched the collection of donates against the background of problems arising due to the inclusion of foreign agents in the register.
The publication said that due to the status of a foreign agent, they lost advertisers. Right now they are running out of money. Medusa was forced to sharply reduce expenses: the publication abandoned the offices and cooperation with most freelance authors, and employees were reduced by 30-50 %salaries. Even these measures will not allow Medusa to exist for a long time.
“We always believed that we will be able to build a media that can earn on advertising and work for readers for free. After all, this is especially important in the country where the request for honest information is huge, and there are critically few independent media. And we built such a media. It took us six years. The Russian authorities destroyed our business in one day. ”

According to the Media Law, “Paper” is obliged to report that Medusa is recognized by the Russian Federation as a foreign agent.
