The Basmanny District Court of Moscow chose a measure of restraint for the head of Team 29, Ivan Pavlov - the lawyer was ordered to ban certain actions. This is reported by the site "Team 29".
The court granted the investigator's request to prohibit the lawyer from communicating with witnesses in his case and from using means of communication, including telephone and Internet.
Petersburg lawyer Pavlov came to Moscow to take part in the trial of his client Ivan Safronov, who is accused of treason. On the morning of April 30, masked men came to Pavlov's hotel room, introducing themselves as FSB officers and stating that a criminal case had been opened against the lawyer.
Pavlov was detained and taken to the Basmanny Court to resolve the issue of a measure of restraint in the framework of a criminal case on the disclosure of preliminary investigation data (Article 310 of the Criminal Code). In the decision to initiate a case, the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia stated that Pavlov, without the permission of the investigator, handed over to Vedomosti, and also posted a copy of the decision to bring Safronov as a defendant on the Team 29 website.
In parallel with the detention of Pavlov, a search was carried out in St. Petersburg at the IT specialist of a human rights association. Meduza journalist Svetlana Reiter, who arrived at the place of Pavlov's detention, said that she was attacked by the police.
The persecution of Pavlov may be related to the work of Team 29 lawyers in the case of recognizing the FBK as an extremist organization.
