The Ministry of Internal Affairs will develop a service against telephone scammers for 45 million rubles

In the official mobile application of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Anti-Swindler service will appear, which will warn citizens about the calls of scammers.

As TASS was told in the ministry, the contract for the development of the service has already been signed. Its cost is 44.9 million rubles. It was originally planned that the work would cost 62.9 million rubles. Development should be completed in December 2021. The name of the company-developer in the Interior Ministry did not say.

The Anti-Swindler service will mark and block incoming phone numbers from which "illegal actions were previously committed." Also, the application will have a "White List" - it will be possible to add numbers that cannot be blocked to it.

• Now the mobile application of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, available in the App Store and Google Play, allows you to contact the nearest police department, find your district police officer and send an appeal to the ministry.
• According to Kaspersky Lab, in 2020, two-thirds of calls from unknown numbers to Russian phones turned out to be spam. According to BrandMonitor analysts , phone scammers stole about 150 billion rubles from Russians last year.
