Perm student-medical student refused a medal for the fight against coronavirus when he found out that they were awarded only “his own”

In Perm, a scandal breaks around the award of students of the medical university medals for work in the “red zones”. During the ceremony of presenting commemorative awards “Medical Students against coronavirus”, which was led by the Deputy Minister of Health of the region Oksana Melekhov, it turned out that only members of the trade union of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation will receive medals.

More than a hundred students who also worked in the “red zones” also risked their health and saved people, but who are not in the trade union, were deprived of awards.

The news caused a flurry of indignation in the student community.

“If you do not meet the trade union, then you are not worthy of a medal? Why can't you just reward all students who work in the "Red Zone?" - Pupils write in the group of the trade union committee of the Perm State Medical University "VKontakte".

The 6th year student of the Faculty of Control, Artem Boriskin, who received the award, abandoned her as a sign of solidarity with other students.

-At the beginning of April, at the request of the deputy dealership, I collected data about the students of my course who worked with Covid Pacrants. There were 66 people. Then there was no question of awarding or a belonging to the trade union. Then it turned out that from the lists of the Health Union of the Russian Federation deleted those who worked with Covid less than some time, and those who are not in the Trade Union, ”says Artem.

Boriskin says that at the award he was sitting with a girl who, like him, works on an ambulance and "passed all the circles of covid hell." But he, as a member of the trade union, was awarded, but she was not.

“Are other students, not members of the trade union who worked in the“ red zones ”, did not make their contribution to the fight against the epidemic? - writes Boriskin in VKontakte. - And why only doctors of the “red zones”? In our region, new hospitals were not built, but the old ones were reprofiled. The load fell on the shoulders of employees of ordinary medical facilities. For example, Cardiology GKB named after Tverny received patients of her profile at once from four regions of the city. And this practice was everywhere. There would be no these doctors - it would not be possible to assist patients with coronavirus. Therefore, they contributed to this struggle. And the Health Union itself did not particularly fight for the rights of doctors in the midst of the pandemic. I don’t know to whom and what quality of Siza he supplied. Neither I nor my colleagues saw them. ”

It is interesting that not all the awards received awards among the union members: only 100 people - in accordance with the “quota highlighted on top”.

The Chairman of the trade union Andrei Cheremniy explained to Novaya Gazeta that about 300 students of the university worked with the Covid-19, and about 1,600 students participated in the provision of medical care during the pandemic period.

- We realized that not everyone was awarded, now we are clarifying the data and we will conduct another ceremony. But we reward only those who have contacted coronavirus. The trade union consists of 51% of students of the PGMU. That is, approximately half of the 300 students who worked with coronavirus will be awarded a medal and a gift from a trade union organization - a branded thermal circle. We have a limited batch of medals - they are approved in Moscow, and we cannot, by our desire to give them to everyone, said Cheremnykh.
