The British channel Channel 4 and the Sunday Times published personnel from a meeting with Prince Michael Kent, cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, and his friend Marquise Reding. During the conversation, representatives of the British establishment promised to journalists acting under the guise, to put in the word about their company at a meeting of the prince with Vladimir Putin, and in return for the service they asked 50 thousand pounds, the investigation said. Prince Michael Kent rejects these accusations and claims that he had not seen Putin 18 years.

British reporters, posing as a private company, organized a meeting with Prince Michael Kent, cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, and his friend Marquis Reding. The personnel from the meeting formed the basis of the investigation published by Channel 4 and the Sunday Times.

During the conversation, the Reding Marquis said that Kent's Prince could meet with Putin and a patronage for the fictional company represented by reporters, the publication said. He estimated the cost of this service at 50 thousand pounds. For another 200 thousand dollars, the prince agreed to record a video message with his recommendation to this company against the backdrop of the Kensington Palace.

“We are talking now, not particularly attracting excess attention. We would not want the whole world to find out that he meets Putin exclusively for business reasons, ”the Reding Marquis warned during the meeting, journalists say.

The official representative of the Prince of Kent rejects all the accusations and claims that the Marquis Reading "made promises that the prince would not want - and could not - to fulfill."

“As is usually done in such cases, the personal secretary of Prince Michael Kent was explained to the representatives of this company that nothing could be done without the consent of the British embassy and the assistance of the Russian-British Chamber of Commerce, the cartridge of which is Prince Michael,” the representative of the prince said. He also added that Michael Kents has no special relationship with Putin and he has not met him since 2003.

The Reding Marquis, having learned with whom the meeting was actually, also hastened to take his words back. He stated that he made a mistake and “gave unrealistic promises”, about which he “sincerely regrets”. The Marquis also added that any agreements had to be approved by the prince's advisers.

The British Prince Michael Kentsky has long been nourishing a special sympathy for Russia - he is the grandson of Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna, who was the granddaughter of Emperor Alexander the Second. At the same time, Prince Michael Kent and his wife are not working members of the royal family, which would have official duties, involving payment from the treasury.
