In Tula, Pussy Riot member Alexander Sofeev was arrested for four days. This was reported to OVD-Info by Andrey Cheremnykh.
The Soviet District Court of the city found Sofeev guilty of petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The interests of the activist were represented by a lawyer from OVD-Info, Aleksey Vlasov.
The protocol on an administrative offense states that the activist "violated public order, molested passers-by, used foul language and behaved defiantly, aggressively and inappropriately, specifies . " Dozhd
Vlasov told OVD-Info that the protocol drawn up against Sofeev did not contain an administrative offense. He clarified that there is not a word in the protocol that the activist used foul language.
“Petty hooliganism is necessarily obscene language, damage to property and insulting harassment of citizens, but again, using obscene language. At the same time, there was not a word about obscene language in the protocol, it was written “offensively molested passers-by citizens.” To what citizens? How exactly did he "behave aggressively"? This is not an administrative offense. How "provocatively behaved"? There [in the protocol] there are no facts - only value judgments without an explanation of what exactly Sofeev did. What did the harassment consist of?”, — said the defender in a conversation with OVD-Info.
He added that the meeting was not attended by people who allegedly suffered from the actions of the activist. The judge refused to view the CCTV footage from the club where Sofeev was detained.
Vlasov said that the activist had not been fed since the evening of May 9. In addition, a detainee was placed in his cell, who smelled strongly of alcohol. Employees opened the window to ventilate the room - as a result, Sofeev caught a cold.
According to the lawyer, the police department in the Savetsky district, where the activist was located, does not have documents that confirm that their premises for holding administrative detainees comply with the standards.
Vlasov also stressed that the judge ruled on the activist's case within three hours. After that, the Pussy Riot participant was taken to a special detention center - six police officers and one officer in civilian clothes arrived to escort him, who, as the defender assumes, works at the E Center.
Added comment by defender Alexei Vlasov. Also, information was added that the court counted the two days spent in the police in the period of arrest.
