POC reported a record number of women entrepreneurs in Moscow pre-trial detention centers

Up to 15% of women in custody in the capital's pre-trial detention centers are entrepreneurs. Such figures were presented by the head of the Moscow Public Monitoring Commission, Georgy Volkov, after visiting SIZO No. 6 together with the Moscow business ombudsman, Tatyana Mineeva.

According to Volkov, such indicators are record-breaking. Many of the women entrepreneurs complain to human rights activists about pressure and about the illegal choice of a measure of restraint in the form of detention. Volkov noted that the number of such appeals is only increasing.

“These women are united by the “rubber” Part 4 of Art. 159 Art. The Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, according to which today entrepreneurs, and ordinary employees, and accountants are “dragged out”. Business talks about increasing pressure at every meeting, ”Mineeva said in turn.

The capital's business ombudsman promised, together with members of the PMC, to involve the prosecutor's office and law enforcement agencies in solving the problem.
