At the beginning of the epidemic, it seemed that Covid would hit India very much - this did not happen. Many Indians even believed the gods to help. But now there is a nightmare

The last few weeks in India are recorded a record number of cases of infection with coronavirus. Over the past day (data on May 13), more than 360 thousand cases have been identified in the country. The healthcare system actually does not cope with such a load.

The dead from Covid people according to Indian custom are cremated - burial bonfires in the country have been burning for several weeks. Due to the fact that not all people can buy special firewood for bonfires and pay for the ceremony, relatives often lower the bodies of the deceased into the rivers without cremation (primarily to Gang).

On May 9, Indian doctors reported the increased cases of moramicosis (called a “black fungus”) from those people who suffered coronavirus. This is a rare disease that affects the nasal sinuses and lungs in people whose immunity is weakened.

In addition, a new strain of coronavirus infection is registered in India. WHO included it in the list of strains that cause concern at the world level. On May 13, the Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Ulyanovsk region reported that for the first time in Russia, an Indian version of the strain was identified - 16 students of a local university who came from India. Later, the Federal Roskomnadzor questioned this information about the Indian strain.

At the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, when the records of the diseased coronavirus were beaten by European countries , and in Russia there was a regime of non -working days, in India the situation with Covid was under control. In March 2020, the authorities introduced a commandant hour, residents could go to the store for groceries only in the morning. The police strictly monitored the observance of quarantine - and drove the violators home with sticks. However, in September, quarantine in India was canceled.

The prime minister Narendra Modi called the current situation in the country "coronavirus storm."
