Brazilian Charles Oliveira defeated American Michael Chandler at UFC 262 in the USA and became the new UFC lightweight champion. Oliveira knocked out Chandler early in the second round.
The 31-year-old Oliveira has 31 wins and eight losses. 35-year-old Chandler suffered the sixth defeat of his career with 22 wins.
Previously, the UFC lightweight title was held by Russian fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov. He received it in April 2018 by defeating American Al Iaquinta. Nurmagomedov later defended the title against Irishman Conor McGregor and American Dustin Poirier. In March 2021, Nurmagomedov officially ended his career.
