Every week, Medusa employees listen to new songs, watch new clips, and then briefly talk about the best or at least the most noticeable of them. In this issue: at once there are three albums - from the “Hummingbird”, “Komsomolsk” and St. Vincent, by which I want to remember 2021, as well as significant political statements from Ukraine and Great Britain.

"Hummingbird" "One"

The main female ensemble of St. Petersburg has been in history for ten years. The founder of Hummingbird Natalya Pivovarova died back in 2007. Elena Yudanova is seriously ill. Inna Volkova and Irina Sharovatova-Coope do not maintain relations with each other. But once again, enthusiasts are announced in their way (as the musicians of the Aquarium, Prepinak, Tequilajazzz, Soundscript 33, and so on), gurgling the creative spark. Now their roles were the bass player of the “Network” and “Pole” Viktor Sankov and the NTV sound producer Oleg Emirov, who virtually revived “Hummingbird”, brought to mind and recorded five compositions of each of the singers. The resulting album “Happiness is not” is declared as a swan song of the team. And he is infinitely sad and beautiful.

"Komsomolsk" "Eyes (stuck)"

“Retro” is the most rapid in speed of essay and recordings, and therefore the easiest and most sincere studio work of Komsomolsk. Here everything is full of joy of simple melodies and the enthusiasm of clear thoughts that cannot but be touched.
