The investigator released on his own recognizance two Moscow police officers accused of robbing the son of a Cosmopolitan journalist

The investigator released Semyon Eryashev and Alexander Yuganov from the Yakimanka police department on his own recognizance for abuse of office and robbery of the 16-year-old son of Cosmopolitan editor- in-chief Ekaterina Velikina. Lawyer Danil Levchenko told Mediazona about this.

He added that last week the investigation asked the court to arrest Eryashev, but the request was rejected. “Accordingly, for the second employee, Yuganov, it was pointless to file a petition for detention, so he was also chosen to sign,” Levchenko clarified in a conversation with MBKH Media.

On September 30, 2020, Velikina said that the police took eight thousand rubles from her son, which his grandmother gave him for a tutor, and threatened to “find something.” In October, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for abuse of power. According to investigators, the police illegally searched the teenager and did not draw up any documents.
