The Investigative Committee did not initiate a criminal case for an attack on lawyer Fyodor Akchermyshev at Yekaterinburg police department No. 7. This was reported by Advokatskaya Street with reference to the defense lawyer and the decision to refuse to initiate the case.
Akchermyshev demanded to initiate a case of abuse of power (part 3 of article 268 of the Criminal Code) and kidnapping (part 2 of article 126 of the Criminal Code). The lawyer asked the police officers who did not intervene during the attack to be checked for negligence (Article 293 of the Criminal Code.
After checking, the Investigative Committee refused to initiate a case. At the same time, the document indicates the name of the person who attacked Akchermyshev - this is the head of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk region, Magomedmin Kurbanov.
As the security officer explained to investigators, he came to police department No. 7 because he received a complaint from the relatives of Milana Magomedova, who was defended by Akchermyshev. The girl’s family argued that the lawyer could “bring her into prostitution or take her abroad to participate in a terrorist organization,” notes Advocacy Street.
Kurbanov claims that he found Magomedova in the office with an unknown man who behaved “noisily and defiantly.” The policeman “took Akchermyshev by the arm and led him out of the office.” According to the security officer, he did not know that this was the girl’s lawyer. Investigators did not find any illegal actions on the part of Kurbanov.
The defense lawyer himself said that a Dagestani “burst into the office” shouting: “Get out into the corridor, go out into the corridor, I say!” I am a citizen!" After which he grabbed the lawyer and dragged him towards the corridor.
On March 24, Akchermyshev came with his client Magomedova to the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to pick up the girl’s passport, since her relatives had taken the old one. He was attacked in the police department office, and when the lawyer was leaving, his path was blocked by a car from which an operative got out.
