In Crimea, investigators are ignoring the petitions of lawyer Siyar Panich with a request to hand over the body of Nabi Rakhimov, a native of Uzbekistan, who was killed by security forces during a search on May 11. about it . writes Public association "Crimean solidarity"
Panich filed a petition with the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol on May 12, after the death of Rakhimov.
From May 12 to May 21, as Crimean Solidarity notes, the lawyer was not given an answer. He filed a complaint with the Kievskiy District Court. Panich pointed to Article 122 of the Code of Criminal Procedure that the petition should be considered either immediately after its application, or no later than three days later.
The investigator told the defense counsel that a number of examinations are now being carried out on the deceased. The lawyer, based on his practice, noted that usually the autopsy of the body, taking samples and taking photographs takes about two days.
Panich believes that the investigation is trying to hide the traces of the crime and how and with what Rakhimov was killed, Crimean Solidarity reports.
Defender Edem Semedlyaev, in an interview with Crimean Solidarity, explained that it is very important for Muslims to bury the deceased as soon as possible, but Nakhimov’s body has not been returned for ten days.
In this regard, Rakhimov was detained in Russia in 2013 and was going to be deported to his homeland. The man turned to lawyers - he suggested that political persecution and torture await him in Uzbekistan. At the same time, in Russia he is kept in inhuman conditions in an overcrowded cell designed for several hours of detention.
As a result, the ECHR sided with Rakhimov and demanded compensation in the amount of 17,000 euros for legal and moral costs. According to Crimean Solidarity, the Rakhimov family moved to the republic in 2015.
