The prosecutor's office sent Morgenstern's "New Wave" video for psychological and linguistic examination. He will be checked for insulting the feelings of believers

The Moscow prosecutor's office sent a video clip of Morgenstern and DJ Smash "New Wave" for a psychological and linguistic examination as part of a check for a possible insult to the feelings of believers. It is reported by TASS.

The audit is carried out at the request of the head of the Duma Committee on the Development of Civil Society, Sergei Gavrilov. He sent his appeal in early April - he asked the prosecutor's office to check the clip for extremism, and Roskomnadzor - to block it on YouTube.

The prosecutor's office stated that they could not give a legal assessment before the examination. The results of the study, according to the agency, are not expected until the fourth quarter of 2021.

• The clip "New Wave" was uploaded to YouTube on April 2, so far it has been viewed 23 million times. In the video, Morgenstern, in particular, dances in the church in the form of a priest. At the beginning of the video, a disclaimer is shown stating that the video is for entertainment purposes and is not intended to offend the feelings of believers.
• In December 2020, the St. Petersburg prosecutor's office demanded that Morgenstern's song "I Ate Grandfather" be banned, but later abandoned this requirement.
