Russians receiving a passport for the first time will be presented with a copy of the Constitution. The corresponding decree is published on the website of the government.
This decision will affect both 14-year-old citizens of the Russian Federation who receive their first passport, and foreigners who have taken Russian citizenship.
As emphasized in the press service of the government, this "will increase the level of patriotic education and will contribute to a careful and respectful attitude towards the state symbols of Russia."
The new measure will take effect July 1.
