Belarusian opposition journalist Roman Protasevich, who was detained during an emergency landing of a Ryanair flight in Minsk, is in hospital in critical condition. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Belarus of the Brain", whose editor is the detained journalist.

Natalia Protasevich, the mother of Roman Protasevich, confirmed the news about her son's hospitalization in a conversation with the Belarusian TV channel Belsat. The woman specified that she received this information from "people from medical circles." Natalia Protasevich does not know whether it is true. But she notes that her son had heart problems.
Roman has heart problems, because of this he was not taken into the army. Once he had a pre-infarction condition. <…> If they did something to him there, it could have provoked a heart attack.
Natalia Protasevich added that she does not know which hospital her son might be in, since “information [about his hospitalization] was passed from one doctor to another.”
Updated . The Belarusian Interior Ministry said that the information about Protasevich's hospitalization is unreliable. He is in Minsk's pretrial detention center No. 1, and there have been no complaints about his health, the Interior Ministry claims.
