The court fined Google 6 million rubles for refusing to remove “prohibited content”

The magistrate of Moscow court district No. 422 fined Google 4 million rubles for refusing to remove “prohibited content,” Novaya Gazeta reports , citing the court’s press service.

We are talking about two fines of 2 million rubles under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (failure to delete prohibited information). Today the court is due to consider another such protocol drawn up on Google.

Later, the court considered the third protocol against the company under the same article and imposed another 2 million fine.

A day earlier, Roskomnadzor demanded that Google remove all “prohibited content” within a day. The department threatened to slow down traffic.

According to Roskomnadzor, up to 30% of links to “prohibited content” remain in the search engine, and on the company’s YouTube video hosting site there are 5 thousand videos, including 3.5 thousand with “calls to extremism.”

Previously, Google drew up protocols three times for selectively removing links to prohibited sites from search results. Companies were fined from 700 thousand to 3 million rubles.
