Here are the airlines that now refuse to fly over Belarus
After a Ryanair flight was forced to divert to Minsk on May 23 and the Belarusian authorities arrested two of the plane’s passengers — Belarusian opposition journalist Roman Protasevich and his girlfriend Sofia Sapega (a Russian national) — a number of airlines began changing their routes in order to bypass Belarus altogether. The European Union highest political body, the European Council, issued an appeal urging EU-based carriers to avoid Belarusian airspace. In addition, the council has proposed banning Belarusian airlines from flying over the EU. France and the UK have instituted similar bans already, and Lithuania has refused to accept or dispatch flights that pass over Belarus. You can read more about the forced landing of the plane here.
