The press service of the airline UTAIR explained the situation with the aircraft flying the day before to Kaliningrad from Moscow bypassing the airspace of Belarus. According to TASS, the flight was made with the aim of "fuel efficiency", the return flight was already made above the territory of the republic.

Previously, TASS, citing Flightradar's data data, reported that the UTAIR aircraft was flying to Kaliningrad from Moscow on Monday bypassing the airspace of Belarus. According to the service, until May 23, flights along this route were carried out through the territory of Belarus, from May 23 the company flies through the territory of Latvia and Lithuania.

"Planning of the aircraft masses relies on the fuel efficiency of the flight, so they flew to Kaliningrad on May 24, without crossing the airspace of Belarus, but returned through it. There were no notice that limiting flights over Belarus," the agency’s interlocutor said.

The summit participants turned to all European airlines with an appeal to stop flying over Belarus in connection with the "unacceptable actions of the Belarusian government" and the arrest of the former editor -in -chief of NEXTA Roman Protasevich.
