The reason for the fine was the politician’s participation in the “Municipal Russia” forum, which took place on March 13, 2021. Then the police came to the event organized by the United Democrats. According to OVD-Info, law enforcement officers detained more than 190 people at the forum; we published lists of those detained. Because of the announcement of the event by the coordinator of Open Russia, the security forces considered that it was being organized by an “undesirable” organization. At the same time, the Open Russia movement itself is not an “undesirable organization.”
