Rosneft stated that it was not involved in the oil spill in Tuapse

Neither Rosneft nor its subsidiaries are a source of pollution of the Black Sea and the Tuapse River, said the company in a statement. On the contrary, according to her statement, Rosneft enterprises - the Tuapse Oil Refinery and the Tuapse Marine Terminal - promptly responded to the spill of oil products and provide all necessary assistance.

The oil spill was discovered on May 24 on the Tuapse River, upstream from the Tuapse Oil Refinery, Rosneft notes. At the site where the spill occurred, there are private houses, warehouses, service stations, a deep-water outlet sewer, the Zarechye oil pumping station and an onshore pipeline owned by Chernomortransneft, as well as an asphalt concrete plant.

According to the administration of the Tuapse district, oil products leaked from a deep-water outlet sewer. To whom it belongs is not specified.

To eliminate the consequences of the spill, six special vessels were involved, more than a ton of absorbent was used to collect the oil film from the surface of the water. On one of the beaches of Tuapse, the coastline is being observed, water and soil samples have been taken. The city is on high alert.

After three o'clock in the afternoon in Moscow, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that all oil stains off the coast of Tuapse had been eliminated. But monitoring of the situation in the coming days will continue. The prosecutor's office of the Krasnodar Territory began an investigation.
